The story shared by the Lewis family is a powerful example of the character of God. In today’s culture, which dismisses families, their story shines with the light of what God can do in restoring, reviving, and faithfully walking with His children. Your heart song sings clear of this ever-present Lord! Jessica Nienaber
Watching this restoration story unfold over the years has been amazing. I read the original book long ago and have kept tabs on Laurie and Timothy ever since. I understood Laurie’s sacrifice in letting her daughter go. I watched what I thought was the full redemption of the situation in the years that followed. But that turned out to be only a drop in the ocean that has rippled out beyond anything I could ever comprehend. To now see what God fully intended has been a miracle. To be a witness to the redemption in our church, and in friends and family having heard your story, brings me to tears. Thank you Lord. Laurie Ascanio
As I watched the Bittersweet presentation, I was reminded of a favorite phrase that has been a promise over the years, both personally as well as for those I share it with. The phrase? “The story’s not done yet”. What a privilege to witness the incredible, restorative ‘chapters’ of your family’s story of loss redeemed. The book of Joel reminds us that ‘I (GOD) will restore the years the locusts have eaten’. Bittersweet is a true testament to that promise. As Laurie, Clare, and other family members shared their perspectives on the past twenty-five years, there was a sense of hope in the power of love and sacrifice. This is a real-life story of God’s enduring compassion, and an encouragement to see the story complete in each of our lives! Sharon Moody
As an adoptive mother I have been intrigued and thrilled by the whole restoration story. Seeing and hearing the people through the stories and music, shows that God’s far- reaching love and restoration are available to all of us. My son’s restoration may never come in the form of being reunited with his birth family, but God can bring full restoration to his life. Ann Plunkett
“The Lord has powerfully impacted our hearts through the message of ‘Restoration’ brought by the Lewis family! You cannot listen to this wonderful story of freedom and life and not be changed.” Marcus and Sallie Smith
“We were deeply touched by the Bittersweet story. It is a powerful picture of God’s heart to restore the things we think are a complete loss. The contrast between the sadness over giving a child up for adoption, and the joy and amazement upon being reunited, is profound. We were left in awe of God’s heart for our brokenness, and thankful that His work is ongoing.” Rick and Jean Curtin
“Bittersweet is a magnificent testament to how one can love Jesus and receive the grace that God has for those who believe in Him. This book clearly shows that Restoration through faith in the Lord is available to all who come to Him. May God bless the Bittersweet Ministry.” Phil and Diana Koch
